Special Olympics 2010
Equestrian Championships
The rain didn't dampen the spirits of the athletes at the 2010 Special Olympics. There were 154 participants and 100 horses at the fair grounds on Saturday.
Opening ceremonies began with a prayer and the National Anthem performed by Dave Davis. He also brought along his trick horse Apostle, they put on a great show.
We had one athlete participate in the Special Olympics Equestrian Championship at Hendricks County Fair Grounds on September 11th. Shelbie (pictured at right) competed in showmanship taking 4th place in her class and western equitation taking 2nd place.
We also loaned our horse Bandera to two centers to allow their athletes to compete in western trail and Mariah also competed in the stake race, shown below on Bandera.

A big thank you to all the volunteers, without you this show would not be possible. Hope to see you all next year!
